Abstracts: Material handling is movement, storage, control and protection of material, goods and products throughout the process of manufacturing, distribution, consumption and disposal. The focus is on the methods, equipment, systems and related control used to monitor these functions. Hydraulic cranes are important part of the material handling system. The hydraulic cranes that are used either work on electric supply or manual power. A crane is machine, generally equipped with a hoist, wire ropes or chains and sheaves that can be used both to lift and lower the material and to move horizontally. It is mainly used to lift heavy things and transporting them to other places. It uses one or more simple machines to create mechanical advantage and thus loads beyond normal capability of a man. Commonly employed in transportation industry for loading and unloading of freight, in construction industry for movement of material, in manufacturing industries for assembly of heavy component.
