Abstracts: Thermal conductivity (K) is the property of a material to conduct heat. It is evaluated primarily in terms of Fourier's Law for heat conduction. Heat transfer occurs at a higher rate across materials of high thermal conductivity than across materials of low thermal conductivity. Correspondingly materials of high thermal conductivity are widely used in heat sink applications and materials of low thermal conductivity are used as thermal insulation. Thermal conductivity of materials is temperature dependent. The reciprocal of thermal conductivity is called thermal resistivity. Composites are engineered products made from two or more different materials. A composite product provides a designed solution that surpasses the performance of the starting materials. Composites are used to raise performance levels, address traditional material design limitations, and enable the development of new product solutions. We have test rig of thermal conductivity in H.M.T. laboratory this test rig is not under working condition because of following faults. 1. Heater not working properly or open circuit 2. Ammeter and voltmeter are not showing reading 3. Temperature indicator & thermocouple are not showing temperature accurately(measuring) 4. Dimmerstate is also in not working condition In this project we will try to identify above said and other faults related to this test rig We will also rectify this faults and make the test rig working. At last, we will perform experiment on the test rig after getting reading. We will verify them with previous reading.
