Iam Nitheesh MN studying in GOV ENGG college Palkkad started doing a project in driver drowsines detection system.We are trying to code in mathlab.we uses image processing techniques to predict the fatigue.drivers facial vedio is converted in to image frames and locate 17 points in the face and uses AAM(active appearance model) is created and compare it with a pre build database using KNN (k nearest neighbour method) algorithm.according to that we clasiffied 6 drowsines levels and alert the driver using an alarm if the drowsines level is 1 or 2.

Several studies have suggested that about 20% of all traffic accidents are related to fatigue, up to 50% on certain roads. Some of the current systems learn driver patterns and can detect when a driver is falling asleep. Drowsiness and fatigue of drivers are among the important causes of traffic accidents. Every year, the number of deaths and deaths from injuries worldwide increases.
