BROADCAST CAMERA USING DIGITAL SIGNAL PROCESSING
By the nature of their use broadcast equipment must have high reliability and operability while capable of producing high quality image signals. Digital signal processing based equipment must meet this standard. TV cameras contain a
-image capturing unit
-signal processing unit
10 plus bit digital accuracy must be possessed by digital equipment in order to achieve adequate gamma correction. limitation of A/D converters prevent this accuracy. So DSP technology has not been applied to this field succesfully. Here, this system realises the DSP method by means of three newly developed LSIs (3chips). These LSIs incorporate a number of functions that cannot be realized by analog methods. There is a FIT CCD unit is there along with DSP unit.

an image capturing unit, signal processing unit and a control unit are the major components of this system. space
pixel shifting process is utilised to further improve resolution of the captured video.

Signal Processing Unit
The major components are:
-analog preprocessor,
-A/D converter
- digital processor :the luminance and color difference signals are produced by it.
-encoderTongueAL and NTSC signals are generated by it.

Control Unit
-microcomputer section: consists of 8-bit microcomputer, PROM, RAM and EEPROM.
- 1/0 section :interface and character generator LSIs are present in this section which are designed to speed up processing.
- shading correction signal generation section.

KEY FEATURES OF DIGITAL SIGNAL PROCESSING
Dither Processing:
a dither puls equaling one half the quantization step is added to the analog signal. These processe improve the digital
accurecy without appreciably affecting the signals.

Gamma Correction and Autnknee P r o c essing:
digitization of signal processing uni was mainly prevented by the gamma correction process.digital autoknee processing is also featured by modifying a data.
