Design of Analog Integrated Circuits by Using Genetic Algorithm
This article describes the application of the Artificial Intelligence
technique called Genetic Algorithm (GA) to perform th design , synthesis and operation of analog integrated circuits. This is to significantly reduce the development time and the cost of the analog integrated circuits. In this work an accurate method to determine

the device sizes in an analog integrated circuit on the basis of

genetic algorithm is presented. a two-stage

CMOS Operational Transconductance Amplifier (OTA) as an example for simulating the method and for testing it. The the efficiency of GA in this application is determined using analysis.

The high
speed applications such as communications depend a lot on analog integrated circuis and hence is very vital. Long design time,
high complexity, high cost and the need for skilled labour are the disadvantages of Analog circuit design. The design of automatic
tools in analog IC design which are very reliable can relieve the industry of the design complexity. Some applications such as filters have specific methods applicable to just them but they have the disadvantage of low precision
and rough modeling. time-domain optimizations have also not been emphasized in them. a general method to optimize circuits in
both time- and frequency-domain is discussed in this article.
