Real-time image processing system is widely used in many field, it is required to have high speed. an image processing system structure based on
DSP and FPFA is presented in this article. Here, the DSP is used as advanced
image processing unit and the FPGA acts as the logic unit for image
sampling and display. The final product is capable of acquiring image, displaying image and making some image processing
operations which include of geometry transform, orthographic
transform, operations based on pixels, image compression and
color space conversion.

Working Principle of the
System

High speed is required for the system because of mass image data. flexible logic control, large
memory and fast executing speed are the advantages of the FPGA that found its application here. The system is composed of:
-TMSC6713 DSP board:for executing image processing algorithms
With TMSC6713 at its core. 1Mbits RAM, 8Mbytes with 32bit exterior expanded memory SDRAM, 512Kbytes Flash are other features.
-video board
-CCD camera:for capturing the image.
