ABSTRACT

This project presents an all new evolution of automation in automobiles. As we all know that accidents are evident in countries like India, etc. this project will helps in reducing the amount of accidents. As a fact, Over 1, 37,000 people meet with road accidents every year most of these are unattended and result in death. In most of the cases the rider or the passerby, around the accidents area are unable to contact the hospitals or family members. As we also know about the rash & ruthless driving, drink & drive, etc. cases seen at day-to-day bases that leads to accidents. In order reduce the rate of accidents and make people life smart, I-RIS ANTI COLISION SYSTEM has been innovated.
This project is constructed using Arduino UNO, Stepper motor, Ultrasonic sensor, Infrared sensor, Battery and motors. The infrared sensor is placed in the front of the car to measure the distance between the car and receiving the reflected light wave signal from the obstacle. The reflected wave is measured to get the distance between vehicle and the obstacle. The ultrasonic sensor is placed in front left and front right of the car, producing and emitting ultrasonic waves in a predetermined distance in both front side of the car. Then PIC microcontroller is used to control the servo motor based on detection pulse information, and the servo motor in turn automatically controls the braking of the car.
This project demonstrates the use of various sensors and microcontroller to prevent the accident. This solves the problem of safety in case the accelerator pedal is pressed when the vehicle is expected to brake.
