This article describes a system which automatically retreats the side stand of a motor vehicle when the vehicle is set into motion is described in this article. There is a spring which normally urging the stand to retreat to the retreated position. a lock member maintains the stand in the service position. when the motorcycle is started to run, the stand is automatically retreated.
A device for turning a pivoted side stand of a motorcycle from a service position to a retreated position is presented.
first lever member maintains the stand in the lock position. A stopper means is connected to the stand for maintaining it in the release position when the side stand is positioned in said retreated position. There is a projection member rigidly provided on a rotary member so that it rotates with the rotary member. a second lever member adapted to be shifted between a contact position and a retracted positions at which the at which the second lever member is positioned within the passage of rotation of the projection member and at which the at which the second lever member isnot brought into contact with the rotating projection member respectively.
