INTRODUCTION

The solution of all the problems mentioned above is to have a system which is mobile in real sense.
So that a person don’t depend upon one machine .
I think ,also there arises a need of an application that can cover any programs and show the things to users irrespective of which platform they are on .
So the only solution is internet .



HISTORY

Researchers at UC barkely were among the first to explore the possibilities of a web based operating system, with the Web OS project, started in mid-90s. the project , part of a wider initiative called Berkely Network of workstations(NOW),was designed to create a set of system resources that could be used in a geographically distributed way. At the turn of decade, the frenzy around online application service provision reached its height. Services such as desktop .com and MywebOS were offering online desktops to consumers but the world was not ready and such ideas were crashed .

There are many WEB O.S available on the internet. And the uses of all these WEB O.S are free of cost. The names of these WEB O.S are listed below:

1. GOOGLE WEB O.S
2. GLIDE WEB O.S
3. GHOST WEB O.S
4. EYE WEB O.S
5. YOU WEB O.S
6. XIOS WEB O.S

The description of these WEB O.S is mentioned below:

THE GOOGLE WEB O.S

The google developed a web based operating system by the name GOOGLEOS.

The GOOGLEOS CAN be used only:
• If you Have a gmail account in GOOGLE .
• If you have firefox on the system on which you are trying to access your GOOGLEOS ( if not then you can download it by yourself by clicking on the option of download firefox )
• If you have your account of this operating system i.e. you have registered on GOOGLEOS.



THE GHOST WEB OP. SYSTEM

The GHOST is the totally flash based operating system. You can access GHOST operating system if you have:
• Any type of e-mail account ( either on yahoo or google or rediff)
• Flash 9 installed on your system (if not then you can install it by clicking on the option flash 9 required )
• You can either use guest log in are registered your account. But during registration you required the reference of any account that already exist on the ghost operating system otherwise you will not get any registration.
