Many mobile network research is based on the use of simulations for evaluation purposes. While a number of powerful simulation tools have been developed for this purpose, it has only recently been necessary for the physical implementation of mobile systems and applications have been widely accepted in literature. TeamTrak is a hardware and software testing platform to build and research wireless cooperative mobile computing systems. These systems increase the ability of co-workers to quickly find each other and share data in ad hoc sensor-sensitive mobile networks without the benefit of a wired infrastructure. These systems have many applications in such diverse areas as emergency response, cartography, military action, and even social games.
