HOME AUTOMATION

INTRODUCTION:
Many of us have seen sci-fi movies where the characters come home, walk in the front door, and their lights turn on for them. Perhaps they tell the house to switch on the TV or bring up the video phone with its wall-sized screen to call a friend.
When you enter your house, pleasant lighting comes on, the roller blinds and curtains go up. The system selects your favorite music, movie, or TV channel. You don't need to nervously set the light level in the living room, surprised by guests - just press a button to change the scene (the feel) e. g. 'a party' or 'guest visit'.
WHY SHOULD WE USE TECHNOLOGY? :
The number one benefit of technology is that it empowers people to do what they want to do. It lets people be creative. It lets people be productive. It lets people learn things they didn't think they could learn before, and so in a sense it is all about potential” . Similarly, through new technology, a little creativity, and a lot of thinking, we have begun to produce home automation systems that make it possible for the elderly and disabled to live by themselves and meet their potential
DIFFERENCE B/W HOUSE AND HOME:
(..."house" refers to a physical structure while "home" refers to the emotional place that is created inside a house with your family.)
A family can live in a house and if they are always arguing and not getting along then it's not a home. A home is the people in it ... they care about each other, are loyal, laugh together, play together and are normally happy, but not without some trials and tribulations along the way. It's the way family acts towards each other that either just makes it a house (wood, stone, siding, etc.) or a home with great personalities.
