What is Thermodynamic Equilibrium?

The system is said to be in thermodynamic equilibrium if it is in,
1) Mechanical equilibrium
2) Chemical equilibrium
3) Thermal equilibrium

Mechanical equilibrium

no unbalanced forces within the system and between system and surrounding
Same pressure throughout the system and between system and surrounding

Chemical equilibrium

no chemical reactions
no transfer of matter
chemical potentials are same

Thermal equilibrium

no spontaneous change in any of its properties
temperature of the system is uniform and not changing throughout the system surroundings
