ABSTRACT:

It is well known that FACTS technology can control voltage magnitude, phase angle and circuit reactance. Using these devices may redistribute the load flow, regulating bus voltages. Therefore, it is worthwhile to investigate the impact of FACTS controllers on the TTC.

In this project the steady state mathematical model of TCSC has been developed. The power flow analysis considering an IEEE-14 bus system has been analyzed. The power flow program for the IEEE-14 bus system has been developed using Newton Rapson method in polar co-ordinate form. Real-code Genetic Algorithm is used as the optimization tool to determine the location as well as the controlling parameter of TCSC with Single-TCSC and two-TCSC simultaneously.
