Wireless Battery Charging system using Rectenna

[attachment=21138]

Introduction

Today in the World every system is made wireless to reduce the system cost, power etc.

A battery charging system drops a common voltage of 220v A.C. to a desired level of voltage by Full wave rectification and is supplied to power the battery.

In order to improve the contact inferior charger electrode connectors and the battery connectors and charging the battery while moving Wireless Charging system came into existence .

Methods that can be used

A Magnetic Induction coupling method for charging the battery in state that the voltage terminals of the charging system are not contacted with the electrode terminals of the battery.

The wireless charging system employing the (NRD) Non-radiative dielectric waveguide technology which electric property is changed in a high frequency band utilizes a high frequency of above 30 GHz.

So in order to transmit the radio wave even in a medium (Rain, Fog etc) and to minimize the power loss, we are using Rectenna.
A rectenna is a rectifying antenna, a special type of antenna that is used to directly convert microwave energy into DC electricity.

Its elements are usually arranged in a multi element phased array with a mesh pattern reflector element to make it directional.

Rectennas are highly efficient at converting microwave energy to electricity. In laboratory environments, efficiencies above 90% have been observed with regularity.
