INTRODUCTION TO WIRELESS COMMUNICATION

Our ultimate goal is to communicate with any type of information with anyone, at anytime, from anywhere. This is possible with the aid of WIRELESS TECHNOLOGY

TYPES OF WIRELESS COMMUNICATION NETWORKS

CELLULAR NETWORK
Evolved from mobile telephone as voice conversation and communication tools for private and business uses

WIRELESS LOCAL AREA NETWORK
Emerged from computer network. It helps business user to expand their service areas by using LAN (faster data transport)

WIRELESS APPLICATION

Wireless applications are those which use free space as the transmission medium and do not involve cabling like fibre or copper

2G WIRELESS SYSTEM

Fielded in the late 1980s and finished in the late 1990s

Planned for voice transmission with digital signal and the speeds up to 64kbps

2G was the digital handsets that we are used today, with 2.5G representing handsets with data capabilities over GPRS

5G MOBILE TECHNOLOGY

[attachment=26655]

1st Generation:

Introduced in 1980’s
Analog cellular mobile
Data speed 2.4kbps
Uses FDMA techniques with 30KHz

2nd Generation :

First digital mobiles-1990’s
Data support : 9.6-19.2Kbps
Used for voice transmission
Uses circuit switched network

3rd Generation :

Because of low speed and incompatible technologies 3g is arrived
Data rates are 128Kbps for mobile stations
For fixed applications 2Mbps
Universal global roaming multimedia
video calling
Increased bandwidth and transfer rates accommodate web-based applications

4th Generation :

High-speed data access
High-quality video streaming
Combination of Wi-Fi and Wi-max

5th Generation :

It is a packet based network
Data rate is 20Mbps
Frequency band is 2.8GHz
It is a network with wide area coverage and throughput

Need of IPv6 :

When a computer somewhere on the Internet needs to communicate
with the cell phone,
It first sends a packet to the phone's home address.
A directory server on the home network forwards
this to the care-of address via a tunnel,
The directory server also sends a message to the
computer informing it of the correct care-of address,
so future packets can be sent directly.
Because of the many addresses and the multiple
layers of sub netting, IPv6 is needed for this type
of mobility.

Importance of IPv6 :

IPv6 addresses are 128 bits, which allow for approximately three hundred and
forty trillion unique IP addresses
E.g.: 2001:db8:ff:1:201:02ff:fe03:0405
IPv6 allows more users and devices to communicate on the Internet by using
bigger numbers to create IP addresses
IPv6 also relieves other networking issues that can arise due to the limited
number of addresses available on IPv4
IPv6 Extend the IP address space enough to offer a unique IP address to any device
for providing global connectivity and mobility among networks.

WHAT IS 5G?

5G is a packet switched wireless system with wide area coverage and high throughput.
5G wireless uses OFDM and millimeter wireless that enables data rate of 20 mbps and frequency band of 2-8 GHz.
5G is going to be a packed based network.

OBJETIVES OF 5G:

5G being developed to accommodate QoS rate requirements set by further development of existing 4G applications.
Flexible channel bandwidth between 5 and 20MHz, optionally up to 40MHz.
Data rate of at list 1Gb/s between any two points in the world.
Increase system spectral efficiency of up to 3bit/s/Hz/cell in the downlink and 2.25bit/s/Hz/cell for indoor usage.

STANDARD WIRELESS 5G:

WiMAX formed to provide conformance and interoperability of the IEEE 802.16 standard. It aims to provide wireless data over long distance from point-to-point link to cellular mobile type access.
WiBRO a part of IEEE 802.16e in process to provide collaborative and generic mobile WiMAX.
3GPP LTE a project aims to improve the mobile phone standard to cope with future requirements.
5GPP 2 UMB a project to improve the CDMA2000 mobile phone standard for next generation applications.

IPv6 SUPPORT:

IPv6 increases the IP addresses size from 32bit to 128 bits, to support more levels of addressing hierarchy and much greater number of addressable node.
IPv6 support large number of wireless enabled devices.
IPv6 Extend the IP address space enough to offer a unique IP address to any device.
IPv6 Improve support for IP Mobility.

BENEFITS OF 5G:

High speed, high capacity, and low cost per bit.
Support interactive multimedia, voice, streaming video, Internet, and other broadband services ,more effective and more attreactive ,Bi directional ,accurate traffic statistics.
Global access, service portability, and scalable mobile services.
The high quality services of 5G technology based on Policy to avoid error.
5G technology is providing large broadcasting of data in Gigabit which supporting almost 65,000 connections.
5G technology offer transporter class gateway with unparalleled consistency.
Through remote management offered by 5G technology a user can get better and fast solution.

CONCLUSION:

Migration to 5G networks ensures convergence of networks, technologies, applications and services.
5G can serve as a flexible platform.
Wireless carriers have an opportunity to shorten Investment return, improve operating efficiency and increase revenues.
5G - a promising Generation of wireless communication that will change people’s lives.
