MOTION COMPENSATION WITH ONE-AXIS GYROSCOPE AND TWO-AXIS ACCELEROMETER FOR AUTOMOTIVE SAR



ABSTRACT
On the basis of a previous one-axis accelerometer motion compensation system for automotive SAR, an updated scheme is presented in this paper, which contains a one-axis gyroscope and two-axis accelerometer.
The requirement for extra Degrees of Freedom (DoF) leads to a new motion signal model. The complete procedure of calculating motion deviation in image display plane (IDP) from the raw roll angle rate and accelerations measured in body frame has been presented.
The requirement for the Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) has been analyzed quantitatively. According to the out-field measurements, the improved motion compensation system can cope with worse road conditions.
