Market the partnership and products:
o The Nokia-Microsoft partnership needs to be marketed properly in order to attract customers to the products which will be further introduced.
o The products being launched should be marketed properly since dynamic marketing is missing from Nokia’s end.
o The lack in technology should be made up for by more innovative and dynamic marketing to get noticed again by the customers.
Improve Windows Mobile OS:
o The Windows Mobile OS which would be used is one of the most inflexible operating systems. It needs to be improved using Microsoft’s expertise, so that it can give competition to the likes of Apple iPhone OS and Google Android OS.
Introduce differentiated products:
o Special customizations and free services should be made available on the smartphones being offered to make them better suited for customers than the competitor products.
o The brand loyal customers should thus get benefitted by getting differentiated and better services.
Concentrate on niche and low end phone markets as well:
o Nokia is known for providing sturdy phones and thus is a well known player in low end phone market.
o The low end markets though don’t provide much profits but they can help Nokia in sustaining its brand image and also help in improving the market share.
o Thus, more features should be added in the products in this range.
Try to promote Symbian OS and try to move to Android OS:
o Symbian OS should be improved and its features need to be highlighted since Nokia should not discourage the OS of its own products.
o There are around ten Symbian based phone models yet to be launched and thus Nokia should not discourage its own products.
o Some of the products of Nokia can be moved to Android OS since it is one of the emerging and well sought after technologies and thus could provide Nokia with appropriate leverage.
o Also, Android is open source, thus making it more desirable.
