What is a Projector?

A Projector is an optical device that projects a beam of light, especially it is used to project an image (or moving images) onto a screen
The main aim of Projector is to view the data(images&videos) by Enormous crowd
From 4th B.C. to present(21st century) Projectors were evoluted from camera obscura to mobile projectors

CAMERA OBSCURA

The camera obscura (Latin; "camera" is a "vaulted chamber/room" + "obscura" means "darkened chamber/room") is an optical device that projects an image of its surroundings on a screen
It is also known as ‘pin hole camera’ consists of a box or room with a hole in one side & mirors inside its belly to take the picture and needs lots of time to see whats going on.

The different types of Projectors

Magic Lantern
Opaque Projector
Overhead Projector
Slide Projector
Movie Projector
Digital Light Processing(DLP) Projector
Mobile Projector

Pros and cons

Pros:

It is widely used in Business , Universities..etc for Seminars
It is also used in Defence for planning

Cons:

It has lost some of its effectiveness due to the invention of multimedia and digital projectors

Digital Light Processing Projectors

It was originally developed in 1987 by Dr. Larry Hornbeck of Texas Instruments.
DLP technology is based on the DLP chip (DMD-Digital Microscopic mirrors Device)
DMD comprises of a standard memory cell on top of it a rectangular array of up to a million hinged, microscopic mirrors are mounted.
Each of these micromirrors measures less than one-fifth the width of a human hair
