Introduction

Background
With the development of healthcare technology, more and more advanced medical implant devices (such as pacemakers) are required. Such implantable devices mainly consist of two parts: 1) an integrated circuit, which has a high capability for communication and signal processing, and 2) a battery, which keeps the integrated circuit to work for many years. Typically the battery gives a life span of more than 10 years [1]. So low power consumption is critical for medical implant devices to allow long battery lifetime.
