ABSTRACT
This project is aimed at developing an online defect tracking system useful for applications developed in an organization.
The Defect Tracking System (DTS) is a web based application that can be accessed throughout the organization.
There are features like email notifications, user maintenance, user access control, report generators etc in this system.
The project has been developed using ASP.NET as Front-end and SQL server as Back-end
EXISTING SYSTEM
The Defect Tracking System introduced in this chapter is positioned right in between the sticky notes on your monitor and an advanced defect tracking application.
It uses a role-based security mechanism, allowing you to determine who in your team can perform which operation..
The Defect Tracking Application allows you carry out four important tasks finding bugs, changing bugs reporting, about bugs, application maintenance.
The Defect Tracking can be installed on server connected to the local network or the Internet, so it can be reached from any convenient location.
LIMITATION OF EXISTING SYSTEM
Cannot Upload and Download the latest updates.
No use of Web Services and Remoting.
Risk of mismanagement and of data when the project is under development.
Less Security.
No proper coordination between different Applications and Users.
Fewer Users - Friendly.
