PC BASED REAL TIME INDUSTRIAL PROCESS CONTROL AND MONITORING

[attachment=26689]

abstract

In this proposed work we are going to develop industrial monitoring and controlling system, using a PC , these controlling operations are performed by the controller which will be present at work centre. Commands are sent through PC via RS232,read by microcontroller which in turn switches the devices either on or off, using relay

Introduction

In Industries sensors like temperature, light, fire and IR sensor’s are placed to measure various parameters in the industrial production. And there will be various actuators to control various parameters in industrial process control. This sensor gives the warning when there is a rise and fall in the sensed parameter such that the devices which produce above parameters are controlled in order to serve them when required. Data monitoring and controlling the actuators remotely is essential for remote industrial maintenance.
The embedded system is going to be developed using AVR microcontroller, the software and the required drivers for various peripherals are also going to be developed.

LIGHT SENSOR

A Light Dependent Resistor (LDR) is used as light sensor

Converts brightness (light) to resistance (an electrical property)

The cadmium sulphide (cds) photoconductive cells with spectral responses similar to that of the human eye. The cell resistance falls with increasing light intensity.
