Wireless Multimedia Communication Application: Mobile Telemedicine

Introduction

Mobile telemedicine is one of the advanced technologies of the 21st century. It can be used to provide auxiliary medical services and has accordingly been used in emergency situations, mobile hospitals, personal healthcare, and in rapidly alerting doctors to a patients’ disease, rehabilitation, etc. By exploiting the advantages of wireless multimedia communication, such as current high utility, convenience, high data transmission rates, high reliability, and wide coverage, we have developed the mobile telemedicine system.



Design of Server module

• It provides to registration forms for customers and hospitals.
• Registration of the customer that is a person who owns the vehicle.
• Maintains the database of customers and hospitals within server.
• The information about the accident location must be sent to the nearby hospitals.
• After receiving the response, the server has to send a message to other hospitals saying that service has been accepted by other hospital.


Mobile source module

The continuous streaming of video is sent to the hospital PC so that the hospital can make necessary arrangements for the treatment before the arrival of the ambulance.
This can be done by entering the ip address if hospital PC.


Conclusion

Advanced technologies of the 20th century, such as the internet and mobile communication, have made human lives considerably easier. The combination of these two technologies has given rise to wireless multimedia networks, an extension of which is the mobile telemedicine systems. The dense worldwide mobile telemedicine network is a result of the combination of the mobile and internet technologies. This technology is unrestrained by the limitations of time. Under emergency situations, how quick the medical aid is provided plays a crucial role.
