Electrical Maintenance - Basic Philosophy
Electrical Department owns up the entire Electrical system of the plant. The entire operation of the system round the clock is in Department’s purview, in addition to the maintenance aspect. 42% of the total manpower is in shifts and caters to the Electrical operational requirement. The same is not true with the other maintenance departments. This fact plays a significant role in the departments performance, which is generally not recognized.
Electrical Maintenance - Operational Philosophy in the shift
Monitoring and recording of various Electrical parameters of GT's , transformers, motors, AMF's etc. and in various 11 sub-stations at least once in a shift.
Looking for various electrical abnormalities in the sub-stations and in the plant while going around and correcting them.
Isolating and normalizing of various electrical feeders as desired by the production departments.
Attending to the emergencies like GT trips, plant trips etc..
Coordinating with State Electricty grid sub-station whenever required for 132 kV line problems.
Electrical Maintenance - Activities
Motors - Greasing / Overhauling with bearing replacement /
PM (includes respective feeder module or breaker).
Revamping - of damaged / non-working eqpt. for reuse.
Modifications - wherever required.
Services - to various clientele
Fire Alarm System - Detectors Maintenance.
Complaints related to Safety - As per the requirement.
Material procurement/Inspection - Need based.
Condition based corrections - Based on Inspection Dept.
