SYNOPSIS
The product made by this team is an Online Shopping Website named “e-Fashion Bazaar” that will provide its user the ultimate shopping experience while sitting in any corner of Jaipur with the facility of cash-on-delivery. It will give shoppers access to a wide range of fashion goods 24x7 as well as keep them updated about the latest fashion trends.
“e-FashionBazaar” will assist our client in expanding her business and out to a larger number of customers. Keeping in mind that this is our client’s first business venture, we have kept the operations on the site very simple without compromising the security.
The purpose of this project is to provide an experience of 24x7shopping while sitting at home and sipping your tea or coffee.
• The requirement of our client was to be able to reach a larger audience in the city and be available to the consumers 24 hours a day.
• In today’s fast-paced world, it is extremely difficult to maintain a balance between one’s personal, professional and social life. Empathising with these constraints of today’s customer, we decided to provide people an application in which a shop miles away from their home is just a click away with the Internet.
• It is much easier and faster to surf through the site and place your order than run through aisles and aisles of accessories and then stand in the queue for payment of the bill.
• After analysing these sites we decided that since our client is beginning her business at a small scale and there will be too many technical and customer’s trust-based complexities in implementing a credit card payment system, we decided to stick to the traditional Cash-On -Delivery system.
• However, to protect our client from loss through fake orders, we have a system that the order will not be considered as placed unless the verification is not complete. The admin or other appropriate authority can verify the details of consumer specified in the shopper’s form and only then will the order be considered placed.
2.CLIENT DETAILS
While selecting an appropriate client for our project, we have four clients in our mind that are:
• APSARA BOUTIQUE.
• UPHAR SUPERMARKET
• SAMARPAN STORE
For selecting the best client from these four clients we have done a survey so as to grade all the clients and select the one who gets the best grades. Our areas of grades to scale clients are:
1. Accessibility to Company
2. Requirement for a Software
3. Hugeness of Project
4. Technical Aspect of Client
5. Company’s Response
These were the areas of grading any client and we scale each area on the scale of five.
2.1 First Client : Apsara Boutique
Our first client was Apsara Boutique, we visited this store on 1st August2011. They are basically the manufacturer of apparels and bags etc. They deal in jaipur and their store’s reputation is also very good in apparel selling. As this store is situated in Mansarovar area so it was very easy for us to reach there and conduct a survey.
First of all we started with the boutique’s requirement for the software. Basically this boutique requires a software for holding a better grip onto their management and give more transparency to their daily selling transactions. They need a software which can be able to manage these things:
• The account of products received and sold.
• The details of the customer and their orders.
• The account for the individual customer.
• The analysis and reporting facility.
• The website to increase their popularity.
After looking for their needs we saw the whole process of the boutique and tried to understand the work process. Mrs.Kamla Khatri who is the owner of the boutique, herself guided us to understand the work process over there. Her response was outstanding. The total work in the boutique is going manually, the whole record of any customer, administrator section, received goods detail etc. everything is managed in papers. For making this process more efficient, they need a software which can maintain an account for all these things at a single place.
After doing this survey in the boutique, we did a discussion in our group for the hugeness of the project. And after a long discussion we came to a conclusion that this software is huge enough to accommodate four persons, as this project need a long database to be created and managed. After this we account for time duration required to complete this project. As we have to complete this project as our minor project so the analysis and designing part of the project must be completed by December and the development phase must be completed by April and this seems quiet manageable in time.
By this we are done with survey of this boutique. The overall response of the boutique was very encouraging, we were very much comfortable dealing with the store delegates.
2.2 Second Client : Uphaar Super Market
Our second client was Uphaar SuperMarket, we visited this store on 15August,2011. They basically deal in grocery items and have a good reputation in selling daily use items at reasonable prices in Jaipur. As this company is situated in Mansarovar so it was very easy for us to reach there and conduct a survey.
First of all we started with the store’s requirement for the software. Basically this store requires a software for handling transactions, bill calculation and a database keeping of goods . They need software which can be able to manage these things:
• Store personal details of customers along with their purchase details.
• Provide a unique order number for each customer.
• Analyze all the reports and old database records.
• An efficient GUI for administrative operations.
After looking for their needs we saw the whole process of the SuperMarket and try to understand the work process. Mr.Ashish who is the owner of this supermarket guided us to understand the work process over there. His response was good. The company is working on a very old software, which needs lot of changes for better and easy handling of data. To make the work process more efficient they need a new software which take account for all the processes at a single place.
After doing this survey in the company we did a discussion in our group for the hugeness of the project. And after a long discussion we came to a conclusion that this software is very huge to be made and needs a workforce of around 15-20 person, this project needs a very long database to be created and managed. After this we account for time duration required to complete this project. As we have to complete this project as our minor project so the analysis and designing part of the project must be completed by November and the development phase must be completed by march, and this did not seems to be possible as the project is very much vast.
We also consider the technical aspect of client. Mr. Ashish is quite technical so he is able in making us understand their requirements.
By this we are done with survey of this supermarket. The overall response of the supermarket was very good, we were quite comfortable dealing with the supermarket delegates.
