Introduction:
Purpose:
The purpose of this Software requirement Specifications is to provide the detailed description of the design, working, modules and functionality of the Online Polling System. This SRS will completely explain what is to be expected of this project and how this project will be in use after completion. This SRS will give a detailed description of the project with all the functional, non-functional, software and hardware requirements. It will provide the foundation of the project and the online polling can be designed, corrected, and tested with the help of this SRS. This can even be used as a guideline to picture the online polling website and what all services it will provide to the end users.
The SRS can be used by the software engineers to deeply understand the purpose, design and other requirements of this website. The software engineers can show this SRS to the end users and take assistance from them regarding the expectations and requirements of the user. Also, accordingly he can manipulate and change the SRS so as to meet the requirements of the users. This SRS is managed to construct an appropriate software for making online polling.
Product Functions:
• Online registration for the voter id card which will be verified by the field officers (address and identity validation) and after receiving the field officer's report only the registration will be validated and a voter id will be issued (a photograph will have to be uploaded).
• Those already having a voter id card can register for the online voting system, they will use their voter id as their user name and a separate password will be used for secure authentication.
• The election commission will be able to use the site to let the candidates register for their nomination on the site and their officers will validate it. Candidates can run their election campaign through forums and chat-room.
• A detailed profile of all the candidates, constituency wise will be maintained so that voters can always know about the candidates of their area.
