Case study

KPIT Cummins has bagged a project for developing a Software System from the resourcing and recruitment department of an International Company that helps automating the recruitment process which is a part of their HRMS (Human Resource Management System). The following is an extract from the Systems Requirement Specifications (SRS).

Overview -

The System helps in the partial automation of the Recruitment process and is a part of larger HRMS system. The recruitment is carried out on basis of the manpower plan and also on ad-hoc basis. This extract discusses the ad-hoc recruitment.
The system is integrated with the larger HRMS system and therefore creation/modification/deletion of Employee - Roles, Designations, Departments, in short all master data are out of scope of this system. The system however can access them through interfaces. Any modifications to these entities are available as notifications (events) to this Recruitment Automation system.

Functional Requirements –

The overall functionality can be described as follows - A Delivery manager needs to fill up vacancies on his/her project. This is done by raising a requisition which describes the competencies needed for the position. This is processed by the Resourcing team. If they find an employee within the company available that satisfies the competency/experience needs, they assign him/her to fulfill the vacancy. Otherwise the resourcing team hands over the requisition to the recruitment team. The recruitment team searches their database of candidates and arranges for interviews. The interview panel conduct interview and share their feedback. The resourcing team and the delivery manager take the final call to make an offer
