Lift Controller Circuit ASIC Implementation

Introduction
The approach used is to work out the basic needs that are required from a lift controller circuit, make a basic block diagram, a sort of an ASM chart as to what the requirements of the circuit are and whether there are redundancies that can be removed so as to make the circuit faster and smaller in size with respect to the hardware requirements.
The report is organized as follows: In section 2 the basic protocols and the signals that are available from the users (namely the inputs to our control unit) and the signals that the control unit makes available to the data-path (namely the signals to the lift motor and the directions in which it is supposed to move) are described. In section 3, an ASM chart on which the decision making of the circuit is explained, is drawn. Then in section 4, the block level architecture of the various parts of the circuit is shown. Finally, in section 5, the limitations of the circuit and further improvements are suggested.
