How does GPS work?

GPS derives position relative to satellite “reference points,” using triangulation
The GPS unit on the ground figures out its distance to each of several satellites

GPS MODULE-FEATURES

65 channels to acquire and track satellites simultaneously
Industry-leading TTFF speed
Tracking sensitivity reaches -161 dBm
0.5 PPM TCXO for quick cold start
Integral LNA with low power control
SBAS (WAAS/EGNOS) capable
Cold start 29 sec under clear Sky
Hot start 1 sec under clear Sky
Accuracy 5m CEP
Operable at 3.6V-6V
Both of RS232 and UART interface at CMOS level
Small form factor of 32 mm W x 32 mm Lx 8 mm H
Mountable without solder process
6 pins wafer connector

INDUCTIVE SENSORS

An inductive proximity sensor has four components; The coil, oscillator, detection circuit and output circuit.
The oscillator generates a fluctuating magnetic field the shape of a doughnut around the winding of the coil that locates in the device’s sensing face.
When a metal object moves into the inductive proximity sensor’s field of detection, Eddy circuits build up in the metallic object, magnetically push back, and finally reduce the Inductive sensor’s own oscillation field.
The sensor’s detection circuit monitors the oscillator’s strength and triggers an output from the output circuitry

LCD DISPLAY

LCD’s are used as numerical indicators, especially in digital watches where their much smaller current needs than LED displays prolong battery life.
The LCD display used in this project consists of 2 rows. Each row consists of maximum 16 characters.
we cannot read back the LCD’s internal Busy Flag which tells us if the LCD has accepted and finished processing the last instruction.
This problem is overcome by inserting known delays into our program.
