SPEECH, IMAGE, BIOMEDICAL & INFORMATION PROCESSING
ABSTRACT
Signal Processing has penetrated a wide range of application systems, such
as consumer electronics, digital communication, medical imaging and so on.
With the dramatic increase of the processing capability of signal processing
processors, it is expected that the importance and role of signal processing
and communication will accelerate and expand in time to come. Innovation
is considered to be a crucial factor for surviving the competition in a
globalised economy. The enablers for promoting innovation are research and
technology development.
Teaching ‐ learning thrives in an atmosphere wherein new knowledge is
continuously created. It is evident that academic research must be
undertaken and promoted for moving up the value chain in the current
knowledge and technology driven world. The Conference on Speech,
Image, Biomedical & Information Processing aims to bring together
academicians, researchers, engineers, industry experts and students to
exchange and share their experiences and research results about all aspects
of signal processing, and discuss the practical challenges encountered and
the methods adopted to overcome the same. The Department of Electronics
and Communication Engineering of Chitkara University, Rajpura, Punjab,
India, proudly announces the Conference on Speech, Image, Biomedical
& Information Processing SIBIP‐2012 to be held on November 1‐2,
