AIRCRAFT LIGHTING SYSTEM

[attachment=35680]

PURPOSE

Air conditioning system is designed to maintain selected air temperature conditions with in flight crew, passengers, other compartments
Principle sections of air conditioning systems are,
Air supply
Heating
Cooling
Temperature control
Distribution
provide sidewall panels to cover the side windows and ceiling panels, both of which have florescent lighting.  An air conditioning duct runs down the top center of the ceiling.  Air is drawn back into the air conditioning system through vents at the bottom of each sidewall panel.
All aircraft approved for flying at night must be equipped with various types of lights
Broadly classified into two,
External lighting
Internal lighting

INTERNAL LIGHTING

Total light of illumination which inside the aircraft
Types,
COCKPIT OR OPERATIONAL LIGHTING
PASSENGER CABIN LIGHTING
SPECIAL POURPOSE

POWER DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM

BUSBAR

A power distribution point in which a number of circuits or components are connected & often consist of a solid metal strip.
Bus bar is connected to positive terminal of the generator or battery.
Each electric power user is connected to the bus through a fuse or a circuit breaker .
In adopting this arrangement it is usual to categorize all consumer services into their order of importance

WIRES &cables

They constitute the frame work of power distribution system conducting power in its various forms and controlled quantities
Wire-
Single solid rod or filament of drawn metal enclosed in a suitable insulating material and outer protective covering
Specific application of single wire are to be found in consumer equipment

Cable-

Usually made up of a conductor composed of a single solid wires stranded together to provide greater flexibility and enclosed by insulating material and outer protecting covering
The insulating material used for wires and cables must conform to a number of rigid requirements, such as toughness and flexibility over a fairly wide temperature range, resistance to fuel, lubricants and hydraulic fluid ease of stripping for terminating , nor flammability and minimum weight

Special purpose cables

Ignition cables-

This are of single core standard type suitably insulated and screened by metal braided shielding to prevent interference
Thermocouple cables-
Works in conjunction with C.H.T indicators & turbine engine exhaust gas temperature indicators to their respective thermocouple sensing elements

Co-axial cables

It consist of two or more separate conductors
Inner most conductor:-of solid or stranded copper wire
Remaining conductors:- in the form of tubes usually of fine wire braid
