Anti theft control through face recognition using FPGA



Abstract
The use of vehicle is must for everyone at the same time protection from theft is also very
important. There are many methods of theft prevention. There is a continuous development of
technology and applications. The prevention of the vehicle theft can be done by the remote by
authorized person. The location of the car or unknown person image can be found by using
GPS,GSM and as control platform FPGA..In this paper face recognition is used to identify the
authorized person and compare it with the predefined faces to drive vehicle. The vehicle will
start only when authorized person face along with code or incase of deputing someone to drive
vehicle it is remotely controlled to drive. In the event of theft or unauthorized person driving a
vehicle, MMS/SMS will be sent to the owner along with location. The location information
delivered from the GPS attached to the system. In case of theft by unlocking, the theft contrast
the authorized person can alert the security for the tracking and catching the vehicle. For face
recognition, a Principal of Component Analysis (PCA) algorithm is developed using
MATLAB GUI.The GPS, GSM, control and tracking technique is developed using VHDL as a
coding language. The theft or unknown person image will be sent by using VB6.0 via MMS.A
suitable FPGA SPTRAN 3E is identified. The FPGA is configured for the entire system along
with MATLAB GUI and VB6.0 code. It prevents the vehicle theft and low of puppetry. This
proposed real type application system can be applicable in any other system with some
amendments where the face recognition or detection is needed such as at airports, international
borders, banking applications etc.
