What is bada
A new smartphone platform
– Feature-rich applications
– Better user experience
– Covering a wide range of handsets and feature phones
Android, Symbian, BlackBerry, iOS are few smartphone platforms.
Architecture
Essential components
– Kernel
• OS Kernel
– Device
• Core functions of a device platform that are
provided by the system, security, graphics,
multimedia, and communication components.
– Service
• Service-centric functions that are provided by application engines and serverassisted
components
– Framework
• Open API framework that consists of an application framework and functions
exported by underlying layers
– bada Server
• Supports all service-oriented features e.g. social networking, location based servi
ce, commercial services
User Interface Features

– Advanced user interface functions
• Sensors, weather, vibration, motion and face detection
• TTS and STT support.

– Multi-media handling
