INTRODUCTION


One of my friend working for B.H.E.L asked me once ,can you

design a control circuit forth vehicle so that the vehicle be operated without

driveron the road. had lot of trouble With the local union, and sometimes drivers

do not perform the way they are expected. Their requirement was to convey a

rawmaterialfrom point A to point B in a circular fashion.Road reserved only for

this purpose.One vehicle normally takes 150 trips in a day and they Want to

increase this frequency. There was lot of trouble with designing real time due to so

Many factors, but I kept in mind when my friend asked me to design for them, we

Worked and decided to do the project name

“ROAD FOLLOWER VEHICLE” We have fixed INFRA RED sensors on

fore side facing downward on the robo. The principle of sensors is that black

colour will normally observe the light where other colour will normally reflects the

lights.light source is fixed down ward D1 and D2 are infra red led’s and D4 and D5

are photo diodes reflected light will fall on the photodiode . we also have the

obstractacl IR sensor which will sense the obstracal accure in its path and turn off

both motors and wait to remove the obstacle

Left & right ground sensor

Obstacle sensor

Left &Right sensor:-
A sensor is a device that measures a physical
quantity and converts it into a signal which can be read by an
observer or by an instrument. There are two sensor one is on right
side and other is on left side. Which observers the light reflected from
Ground.
2. Motor Driver :-
An electric motor converts electrical energy into
mechanical energy in this project we have use two 12 volt dc motor
which has only one function that is to move the vehicle in the forward
direction on the black path.

Processor AT 2051 :-

The AT89C2051 is a low-voltage, highperformance

CMOS 8-bit microcomputer with2K bytes of Flash programmable

and erasable read only memory (PEROM). Thedevice is manufactured

using Atmel’s high-density nonvolatile memory technologyand is

compatible with the industry-standard MCS-51 instruction set. By

combining aversatile 8-bit CPU with Flash on a monolithic chip, the

Atmel AT89C2051 is a powerfulmicrocomputer which provides a

highly-flexible and cost-effective solution to man embedded control

applications.The AT89C2051 provides the following standard features:

2K bytes of Flash, 128bytes of RAM, 15 I/O lines, two 16-bit

timer/counters, a five vector two-level interruptarchitecture, a full

duplex serial port, a precision analog comparator, on-chip oscillator

and clock circuitry. In addition, the AT89C2051 is designed with static

logic for operationdown to zero frequency and supports two software

allowing the RAM, timer/counters, serialport and interrupt system to

continue functioning. The power-down mode saves theRAM contents

but freezes the oscillator disabling all other chip functions until the

next hardware reset.
