INTRODUCTION
The vidicon is a type of camera tubes.
The vidicon was the first tube based on photoconductive principle.
In the vidicon tubes their basic arrangement of the electron gun, electrodes.
CAMERA TUBES
A television camera pick-up tube serves as an eye of the television system, consisting of a light sensitive target and scanning or sensing system to generate electrical signals.
It must characteristics similar to human eye.
TYPES OF CAMERA PICK-UP TUBES
The camera pick-up tubes depends on needs of operating characteristics, the physical size, the cost factors, operating conditions etc.
There are two types
Photoemission principle.
Photoconduction principle.
CONSTRUCTION(2)
An electron gun produce the scanning electron beam, which is directed by the focusing and deflection coils to land upon and scan the target containing a photoconductive layer.
There are 4 grid are used:
G0- heated cathode.
G1- control grid.
