SYNTHESIS AND CHARACTERIZATION OF NOVEL [TRIS(ETHLYENEDIAMINE)COBALT(III)] CHLORIDE

ABSTRACT
[Tris(ethlyenediamine)cobalt] (III) chloride has been synthesized and further reaction with the anions (monoanions, dianions, trianions ) i.e. MnO4- SCN-, ( C2O4)2-, AsO23-, [Fe(CN)6]3- have been done. Characterization of novel [tris(ethlyenediamine)cobalt(III)] salts has been done by elemental analyses, melting point, solubility product, conductance, IR and NMR spectroscopy. The IR and NMR were conducted to characterize the newly synthesized cobalt complexes i.e. [Co(en)3]SCNCl2, [Co(en)3]MnO2Cl2, [Co(en)3]C2O4Cl, [Co(en)3]AsO4, [Co(en)3][Fe(CN)6].
