INTRODUCTION
Air conditioners are the first inverter-controlled domestic appliance. These days, air conditioners feature a self-cleaning capability and a vector-controlled compressor motor for energy saving have become popular.
There are two types of microcontrollers for air conditioners; microcontrollers for motors to control compressors and ventilation fans of outdoor units,
and the main microcontrollers to control indoor units. Those microcontrollers are mainly for 5V power supply.
High-performance 32-bit microcontrollers featuring low noise and low power consumption using Vector control are also used for outdoor units.
