What is Digitizer?
It is a device for drawing, painting or interactively selecting co ordinate positions on an object.
It may also be known as a device that visualizes a physical world into a digital world.
As it is used to digitize ( i.e make computer understandable ) it is known as digitizer.
How it works?
It is used to scan over an object to give a set of discrete coordinate position which is then used to draw the image in computer.
It contains a stylus which is held by user which is rolleover an object to be digitized.
The stylus is connected to a PC by a connecting wire..
Types of Digitizer.
Depending upon the technology used it can be classified into following types:-
1.Electrical
2.Sonic.
3.Resistive.
The size varies from 6*6 to 48*72 inches.
It be either 2D or 3D.
APPLICATION
Used in civil engineering for scanning the blue prints of the maps of land.
They are also used by animator to scan various types of that 3D images.
