INTRODUCTION

Marble starts its existence as a limestone compound, then it transforms into marble by a process of intense heating at high temperatures.
Within the core of the earth which changes its mineral composition to form marble’s unique coloring and decorative character, which is the reason for marble pavers popularity.
Natural stones such as travertine, limestone may be polished up and are categorized as marble too.

AUTOMATIC MARBLE POLISHING MACHINE

Automatic Marble Polishing machine is a machine used for polishing of marbles and granites for flooring applications in the construction industry.
Since it is found that the labor is of a major problem to be deployed for the polishing operation.
Hence in this operation the idea is brought in light to avoid the human interference for the operation.
Marble polishing serves the combination of various proven techniques to clean and restore the marble flooring efficiency.

THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE MARBLE POLISHING MACHINHE.

The set up includes Marble polishing disk which is mounted on the floor.
It is axially (vertically) fastened to the motor, which rotates at constant speed.
The sensors are mounted over the panel to sense the obstruction or the existence of walls, which senses and conveys the signal to control unit.
The control unit which is equipped with microcontroller and is programmed to the movement of the machine in a grid pattern.
A separate gear motor is used for the movement of the set up, which is controlled by micro controller for speed and direction.

WORKING PRINCIPLE

The Sensors are used to apply for main functions that is obstacle avoidance, wall follower, random wanderer.
With the help of these Sensors it detects the obstacle it will take a curve depending upon the functionality as we will program microcontroller.
The marble polishing motor will clean the marble with the water that will pour with the small tank which is located in the module.

INFRARED SENSORS

An infrared sensor is an electronic device that emits and/or detects infrared radiation in order to sense some aspect of its surroundings. Infrared sensors can measure the heat of an object, as well as detect motion.
Many of these types of sensors only measure infrared radiation, rather than emitting it, and thus are known as passive infrared (PIR) sensors.
All objects emit some form of thermal radiation, usually in the infrared spectrum. This radiation is invisible to our eyes, but can be detected by an infrared sensor that accepts and interprets it.

The AT89S52 MICROCONTROLLER

The AT89S52 microcontroller is a low-power, high-performance microcontroller CMOS 8-bit microcontroller with 8K bytes of in-system programmable Flash memory.
The device is manufactured using Atmel’s high-density nonvolatile memory technology and is compatible with the industry-standard.
The on-chip Flash allows the program memory to be reprogrammed in-system or by a conventional nonvolatile memory programmer.
The AT89S52 is a powerful microcontroller which provides a highly-flexible and cost-effective solution to many embedded control applications.
The AT89S52 provides the following standard features: 8K bytes of Flash, 256 bytes of RAM, 32 I/O lines, Watchdog timer, two data pointers, three 16-bit timer/counters, a six-vector two-level interrupt architecture, a full duplex serial port, on-chip oscillator, and clock circuitry.
In addition, the AT89S52 is designed with static logic for operation down to zero frequency and supports two software selectable power saving modes.
