TYPES OF INTERNAL WIRING

Cleat wiring
These types wiring cables are run over the cleats. In cleat wiring case and cap is using for
mounting cables. These case and cap are made by porcelain material. Wire used in cleat wiring
are PVC cable ,rubber insulated cable etc. Cleat wiring are not used for ceilings or damp walls.
These cleats are placed to the wall by plugs or ghitti. These plugs are made by well seasoned
teak or other hard wood . Cleat wirings is cheap and it is used only for temporary installations.
Wood casing wiring
Here cables are run inside a wood casing having grooves. It consists of casing and caping made
by wood. Well seasoned wood like teak and other hard woods are used for making casing and
caping. These woods are free from knots and any other defects. Because all the side of case and
cape are smooth finish. The live and neutral wire in case of single phase wiring installation. In
three phase system different lines should not be connected together in one groove in the wooden
casing. Here Phase or live wires are free from joints. In wood casing wiring flat head wooden
screws are using for connecting casing into wall. These screws are connected in suitable interval.
Batten wiring
In this system wires are run through the battens. These battens are made by teak wood. Based on
the wire used in this system batten wiring are divided into two types they are TRS or PVC wiring
and Metal sheathed wire.
TRS or PVC wiring
Tough rubber sheath (TRS) or polyvinyl chloride (PVC) wires are used in TRS or PVC wiring
system. These wires are run through the well seasoned teak wood batten. These battens are
coated by varnish for avoiding to resist atmospheric reactions and protection from all insects.
Here these batterns are fixed on the walls by flat head screw or wood plugs etc. The cables are
held on the batten by tinned brass link clips. The link clips are fixed on the battens before the
batten are mounted on the wall. These type of wiring are used for indoor installations.These type
of wiring are very cheap and comparatively less time to installation.
Surface conduit wiring
In these type of wiring conduits are placed on the surface of wall or ceilings. Steel or PVC conduit are using
for wiring.Condiut should be joined by coupling etc.Saddle clips are using for mounting the conduits in wall
.Sadle clips are commonly made by steel.Insulated wires are using here.
