Implementation of Acoustic Echo Canceller using Fast BLMS Algorithm


Abstract

Adaptive Filters are generally implemented in the time Domain. Adaptive Filters in the time domain generally work quite well so long as the effective impulse response of the echo path remains relatively short. When the impulse response of the unknown system becomes too long time domain implementation of adaptive filters becomes quite inefficient. So to overcome this problem, adaptive filter is implemented in frequency domain when the impulse response of the unknown system becomes too long. The impulse response must be sufficiently long to make it more efficient than the time domain. In time domain LMS algorithm is used for implementation of adaptive filter. We are using Fast BLMS algorithm for frequency domain implementation.
