Abstract— remote monitoring of chronic diseases can improve
health outcomes and potentially lower health care costs. The
present work refers to the data transmittance and processing,
as it is to be implemented in an eHealth monitoring system
dedicated to pregnant women with chronically diseases.
Alongside a software application and correspondent hardware,
it provides an integrated solution of monitoring the evolution
of the disease in order to optimize the treatment. The system is
designed to be an efficient and safe instrument that transfers
the data from different measurement devices towards the
medical staff in order to keep update the patient’s data and
increase the efficiency of the disease management.

I. INTRODUCTION
E-health responds to the patient demand for ubiquous
care, provides an opportunity for some patients to maintain
independence longer and an opportunity for providers to
monitor some conditions more closely. Home monitoring
devices are connected to the transmitter and allow
management of patients remotely. Once the data is
transmitted, the user can see their online personal web page
where they can confirm that the readings have actually been
received. The data is presented and plotted with user
friendly graphics so that the patient’s present and past trends
can be compared.
Monitoring of chronic diseases, such as diabetes and
heart disease, is emerging as a practical application of the
Internet to directly support patient care. Online monitoring
can contribute to the effective management of chronic
conditions and help reduce the need for patients to go to
their doctors for a routine visit [1].
The present work refers to the data base general
transmittance and processing, as it is to be implemented in
the eHealth monitoring system developed under the
Romanian national research project SIMPA.
