Abstract—Scientific and effective method is crucial for the
implementation of military communication equipment
simulation training system. To develop such kinds of systems
scientifically, the function requirements of communication
equipment simulation system and Unified Modeling Language
(UML) were introduced firstly. Then the software technique
for developing communication equipment simulation training
system was analyzed. Finally, the expatiation in combining
UML and radio model to modeling virtual communication
equipment with UML was provided example with some tactical
communication radio, which will accordingly accomplish the
simulation function.

I. INTRODUCTION
Military communication equipment simulation system
not only simulates the whole communication equipment in
vision and in simple operating, but simulates it in full
orientation and deep-seated aspects, which is a complex
software engineering. In the program design process, if it is
not directed by scientific and effective plan, the program
work will be blindness and it is inconvenient to maintenance
or to modify the program. The similarity between virtual
system and actual system can not achieved in topmost degree
until we construct intact and clear system model based on
precise logic analysis of communication equipment system.
So we can achieve the simulation intention and save
unnecessary blindness working. Furthermore, it is helpful to
the extension and upgrade of the entire virtual
communication equipment system. Aimed at the problem,
UML was introduced for the program development process
in this paper.
The paper is organized as follows. In section 2, UML
related knowledge was introduced. In section 3, we analyzed
software technique for developing communication
equipment simulation system. Then in section 4, UML and
communication equipment simulation training system are
combined based on the detail design of some tactical radio
equipment simulation system, which shows the application
of UML in communication equipment simulation training
system. In section 5, we conclude our work.
