Abstract — After accurate and fuzzy information,
contradictory information, another important
information, must be solved to enhance the intelligence
of computer. Some characteristics of contradictory
information are studied in this article, which are closely
related to the definition and solution of contradictory
problems. The basic research is the foundation of
intelligent disposal of contradictory problems.

I. INTRODUCTION
Human evolution is a process of solving
problems. To solve problems, however, they must be
defined and described firstly. In our daily life,
generally people describe a problem in following
different ways. Take Tom’s height as an example.
(1) Tom’s height is 170CM.
(2) Tom is tall.
(3) Tom is tall and short.
The information of (1) is accurate, (2) is fuzzy,
and (3) is contradictory. So far, lots of mature
theories and methods have been established to solve
accurate and fuzzy information, but the study of
contradictory information is under way.
Contradictory problem is conflicting or
incompatible [4]. Its solution is the concentrated
expression of human intelligence and is one of the
core problems of Artificial Intelligence. The key to
solve the problem is to define or formulate a problem
correctly. Meanwhile, making an appropriate model
is necessary to solve the problem using computers. As
a result, several important characteristics of
contradictory information related to the solution are
analyzed in this article and are described by the
Extension theory [1]. This study is the basic research
of intelligent disposal of contradictory problems.
