DESIGN OF COMPUTER BASED RESULT PROCESSING SYSTEM

ABSTRACT
Computer based result processing system is a research work that will help build an effective information management for schools. It is aimed at developing a system for making result processing after graduation . The designed software will serve as a more reliable and effective means of undertaking students result processing, remove all forms of delay and stress as well as enable you understand the procedures involved as well as how to do your result processing online. This project work made use of data collected from the University, materials and journals from various authors and software was developed to effectively achieve the aims of this project. In this project, the implementation of the computer-based system was carried out using PHP, JAVASCRIPT, CSS, APACHE and MYSQL for the database. In conclusion, the work met all the objectives intended. It is, however, recommended for use by all tertiary institutions.
INTRODUCTION
BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY
Student Result Analysis system is used for the Students and the faculty to have an easy access for viewing the marks. It also makes the work simpler. Here in this the students can only view the marks if their Username and the Password are correct. They do not have the permission to change or update the marks. It is only the faculty who can update and view the students mark. It is also the duty of the faculty to distribute the report cards, the duty of the administrator, is to generate the report card and he/she can view the report cards. But the administrator cannot update cards. All these processes are done efficiently and easily in this Student Mark Analysis System. This project “Student Result Analysis System” deals with the complete details of academic details of the Student.
It comprises of the student Registration no, Name, Marks Obtained, Total, Average, Attendance Percent etc. It can be accessed by the teacher or the faculty who alone can change or update the marks of the students, it is also duty of the faculty to distribute the records maintain the records, the duty of the administrator is to generate the report cards to the faculty members. The faculty will calculate the total marks and them based on the percentage obtained by the student he/she will be awarded the grades.
STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM
The management of students data especially the results has remained the most complex aspect of many high institutions. In fact, this had been the reason why most management scientists in the research identified personnel management as the backbone of any organization.
There used to be cases were files get missing, cabinet gets jammed delaying the presentation of certain information about the students, destruction of files and records in the case of fire outbreaks, riots and other clandestine activities, time required to record as well as presenting an Information and also the cost of purchasing files, paper and furniture and fixtures.
