Introduction:
Robot is defined as a mechanical design that is capable of performing human tasks or behaving in a human-like manner. Building a robot requires expertise and complex programming. It’s about building systems and putting together motors, solenoids, and wires, among other important components. There are a number of subsystems that must be designed to fit together into an appropriate package suitable for carrying out the robot’s task. A firefighter robot is one that has a small fire extinguisher ad ded to it. By attaching a small fire extinguisher to the robot, the automaton put out the fires it detects can be achieved. The fire detection scheme to be put into use is relatively free of false alarms, it is anticipated that it will not overreact in non-fire simulations
OBJECTIVE:
The objective of this project is to develop a automated fire fighting robot, which detects the sudden drastic change in the temperature and smoke, if so it tries to sprinkle the water to turn off the fire and also sends SMS to authorized persons.
FUNCTIONAL DISCRIPTION:
There are two sections in the project, one is base station in which all temperature and smoke sensors are interfaced to the microcontroller along with ASK type RF transmitter,
GSM(global system for mobile applications) modem and a buzzer.
If the there is a sudden change in temperature, the out put of the sensors comparator goes high, otherwise output will be always low, if there is a change in the out put of the comparator, then the micro controller detects the change and also it detects the thick smoke and at the same time it will inform to the security and others by sending the SMS, and also it sends particular signal to the ROBOT through RF Tx.
And other part of the project is ROBOT which is constructed by using geared DC motors controlled by the microcontroller. And also RF Rx and interrupt detectors are interfaced to it. Once the robot receives any signal from the base station, then it will be decoded to find out the location of fire, then controller starts running the motor to reach that location, and on the move if it detects any obstacle, which will be detected by the interrupt detector, and will be indicated by the buzzer.
