WHAT IS A VIRUS
Virus can attack your computer when you download files even when you r e-mails receive from the internet
To protect your computer from virus on the internet , don’t download files from source
The new virus is created every four minutes
WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU GETS A VIRUS
The best option is that your anti-virus software finds and eliminates it.
An example of this would be that a virus come attack to an email when the email is being received, the virus scanned detects the virus and cleans it.
Boot Sector
Boot sector viruses are designed in such a manner that they will run each time the system is powered on
Each time the computer is started , the boot sector is accessed and virus comes into memory
Master Boot Record
Viruses are memory resident viruses that infect disk in the some manner as boot sector virus
MBR infector normally save a legitimate copy of the master boot record in different operation
File Virus
These are the viruses that generally modify the executable files (with .exe and .com extension) in such a manner that whenever the infected file is executed , the virus is activated and placed in memory
Macro Viruses
Macro viruses are common in home and office environments
These viruses are designed to effect word processors and electronic work sheets packages contain a utility called “macro”
SYMPTOMS OF VIRUS
Here are some signs that your system might be infected.
Runs consistently more slowly than normal
Crashes and restart every few minute
You see unusual error message
Printing don’t work correctly
Computer Worms
A worm is a computer program that replicate themselves from system to system without the use of a host file
The worms are spread thought n/w like LAN , WAN and also though internet
These are various way by which a worm spreads thought internet like E-mails , messaging , chats
INTRODUCTION TO ANTIVIRUS
An Antivirus software is a computer program that identify & remove other viruses , other malicious software like worms and Trojans from all infected computer
We should regularly run and anti virus program to scan and remove any possible virus attacks from a computer
CONCLUSION
Even such a simple virus is dangerous because it will quickly use all available memory and bring the system to a halt. An even more dangerous type of virus is one capable of transmitting itself across networks and bypassing security systems.
