Tata Docomo Ltd is an Indian mobile network operator, which is a subsidiary of Tata Teleservices, and was founded in November 2008 as a joint venture between Tata and NTT DoCoMo. It is the eighth largest operator in the country in terms of subscribers (including both GSM and CDMA). Tata Docomo is part of the Indian conglomerate Tata Group. The company was licensed to operate GSM services in nineteen telecommunication circles and was assigned spectrum in eighteen of these circles and launched GSM services on June 24, 2009. It started its operations first in South India and currently operates GSM services in eighteen of twenty-two telecommunication circles. . It has licenses to operate in Delhi but the spectrum has not assigned spectrum. Docomo offers services throughout India. Tata DOCOMO offers prepaid and postpaid cellular telephony services. It has become very popular with its pulse of a second especially in semi-urban and rural areas. On October 12, 2017, Tata Docomo was acquired by Bharti Airtel and is subject to regulatory obligations.
