This article is presented by:
Jayant S. Karajagikar
PROBLEM STATEMENT:
Analyzing Vibrations (Ride comfort) in passenger cars in terms of accelerations at the driver and occupant seats.
Evaluating results using ISO 2631-1:1997 methodology.
Evaluation of Ride Comfort Index and Vibration Dose Value (VDV).
Automobile vibration sources/ causes:
Due to Road input /vehicle parameters:
Road Roughness,
Suspension type and it’s characteristics,
Seat and it’s mounting,
Wheel, tire & tube characteristics,
Due to Power Train:
Onboard Sources which includes the driveline and the Engine,
Dynamic Engine vibration.
