This exchange is having the latest features such as ISDN ports and E1 trunks. It supports 24 POTS 08 Magneto 08 ISDN subscriber ports. It has connectivity to other switches and networks (ASCON AREN) via analog trunks namely. LD / E M and CO and digital trunks E1 (QSIG and CAS MFR2). It works both as Local and Transit Exchange. An LCD keypad and headset are provided as a user friendly console to handle various operator functions. A LAN port is provided to connect a portable PC (with Windows) to function as MMI for system administration.
For high system reliability, all critical equipment elements, such as matrix control processors, are duplicated to produce redundancy. Distributed power scheme is also used. The modular concept has been used to facilitate maintenance and improve system capacity. The ULSB MK III is portable and designed for vehicle assembly.
