NETWORK ADMINISTRATION SERVICE [ NAS ]
INTRODUCTION :
• NAS monitors disk space, services, processes etc of all the systems in a network .
• It consists of one server process and client processes running on many machines in a network.
• It has certain modules in the client processes that responds to the queries of the server about their available resources.
MODULES
NAS has the following modules
• Process Monitoring
• Service Monitoring
• Checking System Resources
• Desktop Grabbing
• Messaging
• System Boot Time
• Reboot, Logoff, Shut down
• Network Information
Process Monitoring
• View currently running processes of client
• Kill process
Service Monitoring
• View all the services of the remote machine.
• View details such as Service name, status and type
DISK SPACE monitoring
• View the disk space status of remote system.
View details such as total, used and free disk space
Desktop Grabbing
Grab the desktop snapshot of the remote machine
Messaging
Send alert message to the remote machine
Shut down, Reboot, Logoff: The administrator can shutdown, reboot or logoff a machine remotely.
Network Information: The administrator can check the network details such as data transmission rate, packets sent and packets received of the remote machine.
Boot Time: The administrator can view the boot time, current system time and the number of hours logged on by the user of the remote system.
